Registration of Market Intermediaries
Under the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka Act, No. 36 of 1987
Terms And Conditions

Act No. 18 of 2003, amending the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Sri Lanka Act No. 36 of 1987 provides, inter alia, that any person who is carrying on or who intends to carry on the business as a Market Intermediary (i.e. an underwriter, a margin provider, a credit rating agency, an investment manager or a clearing house) should be subject to a process of registration by the SEC. Copies of the “Terms and Conditions for Registration of Market Intermediaries” are available at the Secretariat of the SEC and can also be accessed at www.sec.gov.lk

The Registration of Market Intermediaries would commence forthwith.
